Not sure why this is such a huge deal. I went 201 on a 1999 Hayabusa with a full pipe and a 41 tooth read sprocket. Hwy 9 Delaware. Yeah it was stupid but I was a dumb 21 year old. That was a street bike over a decade ago.

thanks for pushing for budget cuts Dems. Need to fund those hemorrhaging mismanaged social programs first! Smh.
As an American I want to apologize for our politically correct Government for leaving you hanging out there after the first Gulf War against Saddam. We should have protected you better.
interesting point never thought of it that way. But they did win WW2 with numbers and I'm sure that remains in memory along with their technologic approach, and loss, to Afghanistan. And they are about a decade behind technology wise in some areas especially Naval. And when they can design these high tech weapons…
say what you will about the Russkies but they sure know how to build bad ass helicopters.
agree on 1. Ford doesn't get quite the attention they deserve. I contend lineup wise they are the premier automaker in the world. It's not all about sales volume (ie GM) it's about offerings and quality. Ford kicks ass and is innovative. EcoBoost, aluminum F150, etc.
neither one makes sense to me when looking at the missions they'd fly. Canada is huge and their most likely role would be long range interception of Russian or even Chinese bombers. Wouldn't an Eagle make more sense? The F-15SA is a more viable, capable and proven option in my mind.
I suppose it's like the VW bug of fighters. Old simple cheap and easy to maintain. Just wasn't designed for that role is all.
Isn't it strange Mig-21s are being used for air to ground engagements? This aircraft wasn't designed for this at all.
different angle here, but using F-16s for this mission seems like slight overkill. Wouldn't the AF and ANG be more cost effective using a Super Tucano or the like to intercept an aircraft like this? Maybe the new Textron Scorpion would be suited to this role. Launching first rate fighters for such a small task…
Great write-up like usual Tyler. This story intrigues me. What do you think needs to happen? I mean, what would Russia really be able to do with these? They do advance their shipbuilding knowledge which is the main benefit I see but operationally I think these could be neutralized rather quickly by NATO if it…
something tells me my neighborhood association wouldn't approve of such a structure in my backyard.
My 92 Acura Integra was still the most fun car I've ever owned.
shouldn't that be a "J-11?"
Hell yeah! The wife's only criteria:
You had a sun fire?
Although its really cool, it seems like a giant waste of money. Its not really good at anything in particular. Why not add more Burke class boats or frigates, that can actually defend itself with ASW and can operate in blue water? Am I missing something?
I have to say its the 147 mph rental 2006 Hyundai Sonata V-6.
and so loud our anti submarine detection gear could pick them up flying overhead.
