The fact that this study took place in multiple parts of Europe also undoubtably complicates any correlations, and introduces cultural dimensions that makes it sketchier to make suggestions for North Americans.

As a Canadian I've literally had German people sight with relief when they asked if I was American and said no. They're kinda dicks about it to be honest.
Politics aside, Southerners and Canadians get along quite well- I think its just the character. I think it's the insistence on manners... the East Coast can be pushy and rude from a Canadian perspective.
I dunno, while the bulk of clothes sold are of course going to be very cheap and inexpensive, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some move on the part of the middle-class towards higher-quality items even at high cost. There's always that level that AA is at, which is more expensive than Walmart,H&M but not out of…
Yeah, I dunno if they have a bad work culture or what, but I'm at least reassured that they HAVE to let me in. If I was a foreign student or someone on a visa I'd be terrified of them. The American ones have asked strange questions ("why would you need to go to school for art?") but I've had a bunch of them make jokes…
I've heard mixed responses, I think the Canadian customs has a reputation for being pretty strict (no DUIs or minor offences even if they were from years and years ago) I've had totally good interactions with US customs, and in contrast the Canadian ones have on a few occasions been dickish to me despite being my…
I imagine they wait until a cost-effective(ish) flight is up, and also they probably don't mind it being in some sense punitive: in their minds they probably have to scare people a bit so the public takes them seriously.
You also wonder too why she didn't pre-clear it with Canadian authorities. Surely she could have talked to the embassy in the UK and they could have had an interview and given her a letter, or just told her "don't bother for another ___ years."
In my Canadian elementary we brought our lunches, and then in HS there was a cafeteria but it was crummy and cost $$$ so nearly everyone still brought their own lunches. There was a "breakfast club" which was a social safety net, but if a lunch program existed it was on the down low. Is this official school lunch…
What if in the middle of the games the water ran out? :/
KKKPAT
I think it does have to be a compromise though... like if a special operator for example needs to be completely unseen, then he'll use a ghille suit or something more comprehensive. The issue is that most people in the Defence Department don't expect to be in combat under normal circumstances, and even among the…
You figure too also the special operators probably wear whatever they want, and when they really absolutely must avoid being seen they'll just use a ghille suit. I think what the army needs though is something inbetween- something that an average soldier could wear while manning a checkpoint for COIN/police actions,…
CADPAT is made by Hyperstealth is it not? It seems pretty alright, although it's usefulness outside the Northern hemisphere in summer is probably low (it's so bright)... I remember when the early Canadian troops where if Afghanistan wearing their CADPAT and it was pretty awful.
At the risk of being "that guy," how have the Fuji sensored held up in low light previously? With Nikon and Sony bringing out small full-frames, I was wondering if Fuji was gonna upscale too, or stick with APS-C.
"Prayers and giving thanks" that's just the next level of code. Round 2 people.
It could just mean she's working through things... maybe she doesn't really have alot of people to actually talk to, and so when she sits with you she gets to really unload what she's been thinking about herself. I guess you just try to steer the conversation back into neutral ground with enough consistency that she…
I guess it depends on the people though... like among a few best friends totally no issue for me, but outside that it's kinda boring and often a mean conversation isn't it? It just seems like people's personality issues especially come out in these conversations, and it asks alot of someone who isn't a close friend.
The "stand your ground" of social gossiping.
