It was. One of my favorite trips to the theater.

Nice harmonic convergence of movie references!

I spent most of yesterday after seeing WAR amazed that we managed to get this trilogy out of the current system. It managed to navigate past every obstacle that could kill it and every personnel change was only for the better. There's that old line about "this film wasn't released, it escaped." I sort of feel that

Maybe for you.

RISE is the least of the three but is still a great movie. People forget what a surprise it was that the movie worked. I still remember when Caesar yells "NO!" Our audience had a beat of total silence and then a big group "Whoaa!!!" I love moments like that.

I'm surprised they didn't catch that one critic trying to hide his mustache and cigar.

It's their own fault. Walder Frey says "I want you to drink this special wine" you get the fuck out. The best case scenario is he peed in it.

It's Harding all the way. The only time it's not Harding is when I accidentally call him Hoover, but even then.

I expected more flying flesh-eating frogs and not just the one implied off-screen.

That's the thing. I'm mildly excited for another SW movie. I'm super excited for another Rian Johnson movie.

Hey, a friend of mine complained because it was a thin, blond, white woman so….

It's understandable. I think LAND gets waved off too easily. I saw it back to back with Spielberg's War of the Worlds and (one ending aside) felt like it was these 70s directors showing us how it's done.

Agree. It gets shafted wayyyyy too much.

I still remember hearing my friends talk about NIGHT after it showed on the local station one Halloween. "Then the end! They just shot him! And threw him on a pile! And just still pictures and police radios on the credits! What was that?!"

I woke up to a critic I normally respect literally squealing about "I'm not getting any work done today unless it involves looking at this picture of these blessings!" and now I can't read his stuff anymore. Fucking dumbass.

You kidding? Every time a future trust fund kid gets its first publicity photo taken, an angel gets its wings. So two angels!

And worth clicking because chances are he did some work you've enjoyed. His death is awful, but his work will be his legacy.

Also a case of not really writing her a character. I like her and Luna a great deal, but boy were they not given much to work with or directed to be interesting.

I assume the 300 thing is a clerical error and one he realizes it was released in 2007 he can open up 2006 to something else. And there's only really one choice for that something else.

I didn't think it was so much a nothing character as one that deserved a great deal more screen time over the extremely boring "leads." The climax for him and Wen Jiang should have been the emotional gut-punch of the film and they (producers, director) pretty much fumbled it.
