Yeah but in FF games is it ever a secret who the bad guys are? Hell in most games it is obvious, even if it is revealed as a twist late in the game.

Love FF10 but Seymour was way to obviously evil, corpse run is underplaying it cause there’s also a totally evil music that play during his introduction.

The anime fan and contrarian in me has to point out that both Macross and Gundam owe their existence solely to selling toys, and both of those series were quite good.
