Eh...maybe.
I feel like Marvels and Secret Invasion could have complimented each other, to each of their respective benefits.
The Marvels deserved so much better. I wish it had come out before Quantumania and Secret Invasion amped up the Marvel fatigue, because it’s exactly the kind of breezy, fun, and heartfelt movie we needed.
Incorrect, they wrapped shooting a full 6 months before any allegations about him came out, everyone involved was adamant that the scripts were locked and there were zero reshoots. The show we got was the show we were always going to get, irrespective of any outside factors.
I don’t post directly to social media much, so for me it’s more a matter of easily transferring screenshots to my computer. Xbox, at least, makes that easy with direct OneDrive integration; with my PS5, it’s always a multi-step process - either copy it to an external USB drive, physically move that drive, then copy it…
I’ve never touched a Max Payne game (to my detriment), but it’s so lovely to see his colleagues come out and say such things about him. I’m sure he knew he made an impact on the medium, being such an outstanding and important series. Not to mention his other accomplishments. RIP sir, reckon you’ve earned it.
That’s exactly why I mentioned optics. The optics of the Xbone’s reveal was terrible, all around. The fact that, even today, the prevailing belief being that pre-owned titles wouldn’t work at all, is terrible. Those optics carried all the way through to the Xbone’s launch, and is probably what singlehandedly killed…
I wrote a whole blog about this (on this site! that no longer exists! fuck the herb!) at the time, and I stand by it to this day. Xbox One was way ahead of its time and some of its smart home theater conveniences still haven’t been adequately replicated to this day.
Regardless of how well or how poorly Sony does with the rest of this generation, I get the sense that they’ve already won the wars that matter, purely via inertia. Everyone’s gaming libraries, friends, and trophies are now on PS. That momentum makes it hard for me to imagine a world where MS can ever take the crown…
That’s archaic thinking. There is a whole segment of the population that has been brainwashed into believing that nothing is a lie if you just believe hard enough. They’ll now tell you with a straight face that 2+2=5 as long as enough people agree with them.
If they did a PS1/2 clone, I just might give up on my dreams of fixing my fat 60 GB PS3. I mean, I’ll probably still do it for fun, eventually. But I won’t need to in order to enjoy the collection.
Social media has given every narcissistic moron with access to a computer or a phone a megaphone, and we’re all dumber and worse off for it.
I’ve been an Indy fan since the moment I saw Raiders in 1981.
Ever worse than that after it did work you got put in a wait list. I was in a 5 hour queue to enter for a giveaway that was only running during the show.
With all the changes Kotaku has had to endure, I think one of the main reasons I stick around is because the comments section tend to give me a much better sense of other people’s views than Twitter or Reddit. But that said, there’s still a lot of comments that are a pain to sift through.
Bungie has proven they can’t handle Destiny so many times already. It really has been a franchise that’s full of issue. From Destiny 1 being a flop and dieing super quickly, to Destiny 2 being a total mess.
Confusing expansions, excessive amount of currencies and microtransactions. One of the worst crimes of all was…
Yeah, I think the Halo superfans are the ones most likely to be critical of it - “Master Chief shouldn’t have a face” and “that’s not how Spartans would behave outside of their armor” and “that’s not how that aspect of the Covenant behaved”. I’ve played the first several games (up to 4 I think) and I liked seeing what…
Liked it if I didn’t love it. Action was solid (if too little of it), while production value was uneven and too often had kind of a SyFy channel vibe. People driving around in barely-disguised 2021 Chevy Suburbans on another planet 500+ years into the future was lame. Covenant animations were wonky. A few too many…
I thought the first season was fine. Not great, not terrible. If I didn’t already have Paramount+ for Star Trek, I don’t think I would have bothered, but now that it’s free on YouTube I think fans of the series who are at all curious can check it out. The costumes and CGI aliens and vehicles are well done if nothing…
