ok i can barely remember the premise for Zapped - didn’t Chachi have some weird telekinesis that was basically used to cause girls’ clothes to fly off. Sort of a “guy’s fantasy” gender-swapped version of Carrie

would like to see it succeed but guessing it flops even if its received well critically (which, feels like the jury’s still out on that)
“I’m thinking of ending things” felt like it could have been scripted by an AI, imo. usually i’m down with Kaufman but felt like that one was a misfire, i dunno
but Blade Runner was never a big blockbuster, which the sequel’s box office bore out. so i’m not sure how much demand there was for that particular mystery to be explained
I don’t concede that Alien: Covenant was good. i’m glad Ridley didn’t make 2049, while i still that movie was somewhat unnecessary at least it didn’t actively undermine its predecessor the way each Aliens movie seems to diminish the original two movies.
long-running isn’t quite the right word here - things like Avatar or Top Gun were one and done for decades but spawned blockbusters recently. i’m not sure if folks are dragging kids to those movies as readily as Mario or Barbie tho
so more movies that are based on long running properties that adults recall from their youth and still has some appeal to kids today? At least that seems to be the recipe for all the biggest box office hits.
i didn’t think incredible hulk was that bad. william hurt and tim roth were both fun.
i think Jumanji is his iconic role, at least that’s the one i liked him best
he’s evil Superman or antihero Superman, depending on who’s writing. problem is evil Superman’s been done a bunch now and it doesn’t sound like they did much to really give Adam an arc to get from evil to antihero
off topic, but whatever happened to that dude that had the gem embedded in his forehead like Vision or Adam Warlock? i know someone ripped it out at one point but wasn’t sure if he got it re-embedded or upgraded or what
i think its ok for him to be frustrated at not being able to work, its fair to vent about it emotionally but he probably shouldn’t have tried to dress it up as an intellectual argument in his initial statement.
tbf i think horror-comedy is a tough genre to be successful in. tends to be higher budget than typical comedies but w/o much more appeal. just my uninformed opinion.
heh my wife is a huge Gunsmoke fan and as a result i’ve seen at least the first 13 seasons worth of episodes.
eh, i didn’t think the first two were terrible, not Citizen Kane but entertaining anyhow. sounds like this one was not even entertaining
i mean, sure they could make another good Charlie’s Angels movie, but the McG movies really felt like enough. iow i don’t think there was a lot of pent-up demand for Banks’ movie in the 1st place, and then it didn’t turn out great
oh man, i was worried about this. oh well hope the strike is settled soon (in favor of the actors and writers of course)
that seemed to be a common consensus, that Billy acted way more adult than Shazam and it made it a challenge to believe they’re the same person. Given that the Billy actor is older, probably would’ve made more sense for Zach to tweak his performance to lean a little less heavily on the kid part, especially since that…
I’m sure your recommendation of Bill Cosby movies will be completely uncontroversial
schizophrenia is a terrible thing
