Maybe they should do the opposite. Name it some sort of strange guttural noise without a symbol. Like that horrible groan-suck you make when you really get the wind knocked out of you.

That’s no elk, that’s a reindeer. Which means he is telling the Porsche engineers to step off because Santas’ a Mercedes man

Had. I worked for IAV solely on the Elio engine. When they ran out of cash my position was terminated so I guess you could say Elio both gave me and cost me the best job I ever had.

Even better, check out Google Street View for Notogawa, Japan and ask yourself how the hell you could pilot that thing around without running over things left and right.

No. It’s also not just clout. There is a whole number of reasons but most of it comes down to capacity and money. The combination of a engine manufacturer, like say Ford, who had a suitable engine, enough manufacturing capacity to meet the demands of Ford and Elio at the same time, and a price both could work with was

Hmm...That is pretty practical now that I think of it

Jason, I worked on the Elio engine at IAV so let me give you a little background on why they decided to develop it in the first place. Elio had always wanted to just buy an engine but turns out it’s really hard to get someone to sell you one when your a startup. Most companies in that situation want the money up front

I just want to say I’ve personally seen a Hummer H2, current gen Dodge Durango, and a Lincoln Navigator driving around in Japan. I have no clue how they fit down the streets or where they park them. I think they are seen as cool because they are rare and so, so, impractical.

Looks like it has the same ride height of a wagon from 20 years ago.

Corner doors, hmmmm. Seems like those would get really beaten up to the point of non-function on a cab. I mean that’s why Checker built their cabs with huge bumpers and all the body panels were easily replaceable.

I’m really surprised more spectators at these things don’t get killed.

Whatever you can patent so you can extort your competition later (at least in the auto industry). Granted a lot of the time they are trying to protect their innovations but sometimes it’s only about screwing the other guy. Case and point, one of our competitors once tried to patent the use of grease to reduce

Well I’m just assuming that smell was associated with the vaping supplies left in the car. Really what I’m getting at is it was tough to find a manual hatchback with a clean interior, used, in my area.

Had the same issue. Finding a manual hatchback that hasn’t been vaped in or driven at least 150,000 miles in this area was really difficult and when I did find that car it was at most 3K less than a brand new car with cheap financing. Even then the dealer could only find 2 like I wanted within 500 miles.

It basically is. I think it was from a company importing commodore utes into the US and somehow making them ‘legal’ as Pontiacs or something.

Because the first things I think of when I think ‘youth’ is Chrysler and minivan......

Utes

Yeah I think I would need to pony up for a manual atenza wagon too. I basically bought the 3 because my car was totaled and used was nuts enough I figured might as well do my part to keep manuals as an option. Plus it’s just hard to find anything good with a manual around here that isn’t destroyed so I just paid a

I wish they sold the Atenza wagon here

I just passed 50,000 miles on mine and still love it. Kinda wish I had gotten the 2.4L but it still turns close to 40 mpg on the highway so it’s hard to complain. Plus with a roof box it’s a roadtrip machine
