my beat up old dodge Dakota has a foot operated parking brake and NO hill start assist. It's actually just as easy to use on a hill as the hand operated that I'm used to. It is still released by hand on the lower left side.

Is the shifter a massive eyesore to look at like in the auto trucks?

thanks for posting this

I don't know if steel wheels will actually be stronger. I've seen lugnuts rip through on a local rallycross course. If you want to fit some all terrains you might want to check out the sparco terra wheel with Yokohama geolandar at-s tires.

came here to say this. I want the truck to be based off of this design too.

No. It is not a true small truck. It might be more capable than the last one, but to get people away from tacomas or full sizers it's going to need to be cheaper or more fuel efficient in addition to being better to drive.

not even kidding. I'd love to replace my mazda5 with one of these in about 5 years. Can I hope for diesel/manual +/- awd?

if you don't mind me plugging my first oppo post on this subject. It's definitely a market up for grabs, but how big is it?

Checking one out at the GMC stand at naias, a guy hops in next to me, looks at the shifter and says "looks like it came out of my old cavalier, I wouldn't buy it simply based on that"

For some reason I can't help but agree with your logic. Self healing seats! I'm down for that.

best Doug ever

What seat heaters did you get? I want to install some in my 5.

I can't stop thinking about mid engine pickups. I found this while digging around. 1934 Goliath Atlas.

scratch that. all hope is gone. see more from the source article:

"It's not easy to do, (and) if you do something like this and you manage to do a vehicle at (a low) price, what else would you do on this platform? Because frankly to do a platform for 50,000 or 60,000 (units) a year – it's not worth it," Loing tells WardsAuto here during a recent Nissan full-line media event.
