You're not alone. I still love the show, but the show (and Anderson) goes ultra-cringey and very broad too often for many people's tastes, and I find it tiring. However, when he does dial it back, I think he's great and works well with the rest of the ensemble.

It is a Wiseguy reference! (And yes, he'd have his sister shoot him up between his toes …)

He was good in those last 2-3 seasons of L&O: Original Recipe. He and Jeremy Sisto had the best pairing outside of either Jerry Orbach or Chris Noth.

It's a touchy thing, but I don't think that line was just about her biracialness, but also that she was raised by lost-in-time, blast-from-the-past, nomadic-with-composting-toilet hippies. She wasn't as steeped in black culture as Dre was. It's still an unfair insult, but I also think it's more nuanced than how it

Dre's 41. So, Pops was 14 and Ruby was 18 - that cradle snatcher.

Nah, he doesn't do that anymore. Last I checked.

You intrigue me. Tell me more.

Like a Northerner's version of OutKast?

I was going to be all grumpy and mutter about what in the blue blazes is grime music, but then I saw that Laura Mvula was nominated, so now I have an album to go look up. Thank you, A. V. Club. Now you can get off my lawn …

No. But Laura Mvula is pretty cool.

Maybe he's still trying to get that global Shakespeare theatre company off the ground? That, or the money is going between his toes.

Yeah. Yeah. Around the 26 minute mark, I paused the Tivo, turned to my geek, and asked, "Dances with Wolves?" He nodded, but we kept on watching. That said, I got a big laugh out of John jumping out of the window. Weird comic beats in that movie …

On a news related tangent - one of my favourite news people seems to have transformed his show into The Trump Hour. Then again, I liked — no, loved — Up with Chris Hayes more than All In. It makes me feel grumpy and tired nowadays and I may start giving it a pass until the election is over.

There was some of that, as well as escaped slaves who were taken in by various tribes. There are a lot of African-Americans who either think or know that they have Native American ancestors, and even have proof.

*raises hand*

Okay, I can't blame you for that.

Only in Second Life. It's really fun, there.

He was pretty awesome during the first season of Sleepy Hollow.

Having watched it, I can see why it wouldn't do so well at the box office. It's convoluted, it's long, and it shifts from a military Western to a pulp fantasy (but with aliens and alien tech), with Victorian adventurer/supernatural mystery bookending intro/outro. It is a mess. But a fun mess that doesn't take itself
