So that's why the New Testament kills off the best character.

Also, you have to remember, artwork was done by commission, and under the censorship of The Church. Even in Renaissance time, doing church art was a way for artists to avoid attracting the attention of the Church for their decadence, and it didn't always work, as the Bonfire of the Vanities will show.
Its an old division. Mark's Jesus and Luke's Jesus are very different, much in the way you described.
Also, it serves a totalitarian mindset. Everything has to be about Jesus, all the time, Jesus has to be at the center of your thoughts, and you are nothing without Him. If you take that seriously, it results in really bad entertainment, because you just end up covering the same ground over and over again.
People protested the Last Temptation of Christ. It was very controversial in its time, both movie and book.
It would make a lot more sense if some scientist was like "Fuck man, I'm not going to make sterile dinosaurs, that's stupid." And the frog thing was his work around.
Welcome to…. .Jurassic Park.
Yeah, but its an acceptance of evolution that is so heavy on the theism as to be confusing. There are creationist Catholics out there. I think Catholic acceptance of evolution is better than average in America, but nothing like you see with Jewish people.
Ah, there are a lot of private schools that are religiously affiliated but not Catholic, as far as I understood. Maybe I just never realized that parochial implied Catholicism, since there aren't too many Catholics in my area of the South.
I knew several homeschooled ladies in college, and while not all of them were homeschooled for religious reasons, all of them were pretty sheltered. They didn't get sarcasm, they didn't make good jokes, etc.
Its not quite the same… some of those are just unusual research. Maybe an Unoble.
You have to admit, though, science does steal a little off of God's plate, even from liberal believers.
I don't know why people insist that "Catholics believe this". There is written dogma, but the actual belief of Catholic people is a pretty broad spectrum, and I think most Catholics don't even know their own dogma most of the time.
And all of that he has to schedule around its main job of verbally abusing people that were raped by priests.
Not as much… that was out of the way by the time he was in school. He just 'wasn't convinced'. Whatever that means.
Yeah, one of the best parts about life is that it exploits entropy in order to produce complexity. It can do so even without the sun, just with the various chemicals produced by the planet's heat.
There are more religions than Catholicism out there.
Yeah, that's true. Even public schools don't really teach evolution because the teachers are either creationists themselves, don't understand it, or are afraid of pushback from students.
I was perhaps more in the mindset of creationists (a lot of the prominent scientists that contributed to the development of evolution were creationists that recognized that they had problems). Course, by that point, the ability for any western religion to burn people a live was pretty much gone.
I believe, much like giving an honorary degree, colleges should be able to give dis-honorary ones, for people like hear that dedicate their lives to nonsense. A scientific Rassie.
