I saw this and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World in the same weekend, but I saw Scott Pilgrim first, so The Expendables didn't stand a fucking chance.

Is the dialogue any better in this one?  Because the dialogue in the first one was horrendous, and not in a "lame jokes and bad puns, old school action movie" kind of way, more a "let me pound out a rough draft in 20 minutes, eh screw it, good enough" kind of way. Either way, I won't see this in theaters.

I'm picturing a Random Roles with him, wherein they just keep asking him about Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

He cast a spell just to make us think he's cool? Man, that is so cool.

Perhaps I am mistaken, and yes, I believe it did unfortunately rejuvenate the KKK (although it inspired numerous African-Americans to get the truth out as well), all I know is that I didn't walk away from Birth of a Nation thinking, "Yes, that painted the Ku Klux Klan as a right-minded group of rational thinkers,"

Just an IMDB trivia entry, which I've borrowed:

Really, because there was, at one point, supposed to be a title card in the film saying something to the effect of, "this is what the KKK would actually have you believe." Granted, I don't know why it was not included.

Do people not realize that Birth of a Nation is meant to be satirical? Yeah, on it's face, the second half of that flick is crazy racist, but that's the thing, it's too racist. So much so that you can't honestly think anyone involved with it actually believed the KKK had no choice but to organize because the freed
