I think b/c the two things I saw him in before he became the doctor were unlikeable characters - the Pompeii guy and the Torchwood guy. I REALLY hated the Torchwood guy. I know - it's ridiculous, but it's true.

This thread is a masterpiece! I laughed until I choked. Which isn't actually too hard for me to do, but still!

I haven't enjoyed it since Matt Smith left. I just cannot get into Capaldi as the doctor. Plus I hated Clara.

I agree - from what I remember, they didn't do the character justice.

I think adding Vala to the mix really helped 9 & 10. But then I'm a Daniel/Vala shipper all the way.
