I think there's room for two "longest running" shows - while 434 episodes is, indeed, a feat, it's also impressive to keep an audience for so many years straight, so longevity is an accomplishment also.

Yeah, or else she needs a new boyfriend. I have yet to hear anything positive about any of his friends, which seems like a bit of a red flag.

Oh! But, that reminds me of a story my sister recently told me: She was out with her boyfriend and some friends of his, and one of them was browsing Tinder. They asked my sister (because she has a Jewish last name) if a name was Jewish or not, because they didn't want to agree to a date with the person if it was.

That would be called an homage, then. Ripoff implies that it doesn't stand as its own work.

I pretty much never watch horror movies (the last one was Cabin in The Woods), so there's zero chance it's spoiling anything for *me*. I just like hearing what crazy/clever stuff the writers came up with.

Schwartz is a Jewish name, the Jonathan and Todd not so much. And, I think the word you're thinking of is "gentile"?

I still haven't forgiven him for Airbender - not sure how he can redeem himself after that.

I really don't understand why they don't do them for things like this. Really, if the review implies a major twist or spoiler, people are going to want to have the option to see it (and, maybe discuss it). That other review for Detour seemed like an even bigger deal - if you feel like there are integral plot points

Ripoff? I love the Hitchhiker's Guide, but it's not like Adams invented satire. I don't really think that's a fair charge.

You have to wake up in time to vote in November of 2020, though! But, beyond that, sounds like a solid plan.

On the surface, it feels more Pratchett-y to me (the footnotes, and some of the zanier bits, for example), but there's lots of Gaiman in there too. Gaiman loves to play around with angels and demons and mythology, so to my eye it fits in pretty well among his other works.

You're right - I'm going to chalk it up to delirium from not being able to eat food all yesterday. Sigh.

Sigh. No. Because fetus does not equal baby. If potential to eventually, maybe become a baby equals baby, then is masturbatory ejaculation abandonment? No, because a sperm isn't a baby yet. But anyways, you're clearly a reasonable person who's interested in informed and nuanced understanding of complex moral

I agree - celebrities are human, so they're going to make mistakes. Calling them on that is useful, but only if we also encourage positive behavior. Otherwise, they're going to stop lending their (frankly, pretty substantial) resources towards worthy causes.

No one makes the decision to get an abortion lightly. And, when a fetus is aborted it isn't a baby yet. It's a collection of cells with the potential to grow into a baby, maybe, if it's forming correctly and the mother is healthy enough to safely carry to term.

I get why Lena Dunham et al are mentioned in the AV Club's coverage - that's part of what makes it something to cover on this site. But, given how minimal her presence is in the actual video, I don't really get why people think that her input to it is such a big deal. Or, is this a knee-jerk thing, where people

It's also addressed in the video. But, you can appreciate the good that a historical figure did and the positive legacy that's grown out of their work without approving of every thing they did. If we're going to Sanger's Eugenics ties against modern day Planned Parenthood then shouldn't we also, say, boycott all

…said no one, ever.

Did you watch the video, though? Because none of the celebs did anything more than voice-over work. I thought they did an excellent job of making the message and the women they were trying to highlight be front and center. It mostly featured PP leaders past and present, and women who've been hurt by lack of

We used to live next door to a really nice Indian family, and once they found out that we liked to eat pretty much anything they'd occasionally drop off homemade food - sooo good.
I felt like I should reciprocate, but I don't cook, so I'd give them something else (lemons from our tree, or a small game for their
