Still, a decade after it was cancelled was still quite the barren wasteland for TV. By "twenty years" I mean twenty years have passed, and in that time TV has evolved rapidly, especially since the turn of the century.

So, it's probably a terrible thing to admit, but I've never seen Twin Peaks. After all this recent ho-ha, I watched the first couple of episodes. Wasn't feeling it. Perhaps it was super-amazing at the time? But with virgin eyes and twenty years of better television, I'm not sure what's supposed to be so special about…

When he was talking to her about smiling at the start of the episode, I thought for a moment the Doctore had built a robot-Clara which was malfunctioning.

The thought of a sci-fi Marx Brothers movie makes me very sad such a thing cannot exist in our universe.

If Clara had straight-up heel-turned and Stunnered the Doctor, flipped him off, and stormed out of the TARDIS with the belt, I would have been mightily impressed.

"The Doctor’s penchant for talking to himself effectively makes him his own companion." I would prefer that. In fact, just have Capaldi perform all the parts on an empty stage - he's good enough, and imagination would be a lot better than cheap computer effects!
