I am not a huge fan of the duality concept present in most of Fringe. You know, having two plot threads that mirror each other in mostly not-so-subtle ways. Sometimes comes off as heavy-handed or even pretentious.

It's rare that I read something and find myself thinking that I could have written pretty much the exact same thing. I agree on all points. I am usually annoyed by exposition, but Fringe gets away with it for the same reasons you mentioned.

I remember I really didn't like Nina in season 1, especially in the first couple episodes. Blair Brown overacted her scenes, probably because she didn't know what the hell her character was supposed to be (neither did the writers, of course).

2) I was thinking maybe it wasn't Julian who had the bomb strapped on her. But I guess it must have been him. His surprise was clearly just about how Chaplin had the scapegoat shot.
