she gets some funny lines and I like Rhea Perlman's energy, but the character has a nasty attitude. Obviously it's part of the dynamics of the ensemble that Diane is the punching bag which is always funny, but Carla can be particularly vicious to her in a way that I would feel really uncomfortable if I saw a woman

i walked in on my parents watching Deranged on VHS when I was very young, during the part where he digs up his dead mother. I might be remembering it wrong but I think he hallucinates that she's talking to him? Dear god, the nightmares I had.

i know the anarchic It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia will most likely never, never, never get nominated. I wish I could give those guys an emmy in my own personal category of Making Me Laugh So Hard A Little Bit Of Pee Comes Out.

amen. You guys may be snobby toward female-centric entertainment and obsessed with big titties - the harmless, casual sexism i've come to know and love my whole life - but you're alllllllright

agreed. Eternal Sunshine deals with subject matter that can be very painful to most people but it's very life-affirming

i still get the theme song from Lancelot Link stuck in my head from time to time. "Whatcha gonna do!"

bad answer guy, i remember that episode. seriously disturbing. there was some really abstract animation used in that sequence too which made it almost unbearable to watch.

Taylor Swift plays guitar much the same way Janice from the Muppets plays guitar

realistically, Ariel would always be sitting down so I don't really see why it should matter

Fellow Tall Lux, my childhood dream was to be Ariel at Disneyland but once I was fourteen and had hit 5'10 I knew that dream was over

"I'm the type who'll never get married, because I can't stand that type of shit. Having somebody bitch at me for sleeping until 2 p.m. on the weekend, telling me I can't go out drinking til 2 a.m. on a Wednesday, etc., etc., no fucking thank you."

no, your blueness
The Blue meanies were equal parts terrifying and hilarious. easily among my favourite childhood villains.

i'm also Australian, and Craig Ferguson at 10.30 is my nightly ritual before going to sleep… or it would be if it weren't followed by Cheers which I can't not watch. And then Roseanne is on after that and before you know it "oh fuck it's 1am i have to work in the morning"

This episode is incredibly sad, although Homer and Marge singing together in the car and holding hands is so, so sweet. It's a pleasant scene of two young people in the 80s who had the whole world in front of them and who were so in love… things didn't turn out perfectly for them but you know that in ten years time

Phoebe Motherfucking Cates
Fast Times at Ridgemont High also can't be thrown in to the mix without also including The Cars' "Moving in Stereo" and Phoebe Cates by the pool.

Yankee - I know I'm probably in the minority, even if only for the reason that most people saw it first with 'Killing Moon'.

i know it ruffled a lot of people's feathers when Richard Kelly put 'Never Tear Us Apart' back in to the opening sequence of Donnie Darko, but I'm an unabashed INXS fan and love the song's tragic-sleazy sentiment introducing us to these characters.

music… good…
The "Down in Mexico" lap dance from Death Proof

"tears in googly eyes" hahahaha oh god someone buy this man a drink
