Unfortunately, this list has a serious Lady Problem.  No female directors in the top 50 (Clueless, The Piano, Gas Food Lodging?), no Silence of the Lambs, and a serious devaluing of stories-about-women.  I'm sure every contributor can defend him or herself and not see fault, but the collective result is worrisome.

It's a shame. This album was preceded by Lovesexy, which didn't sell (never even top-10) but isn't bad at all, because Prince bailed on The Black Album at the last minute.  You can understand why the Warner Bros thought he owed them one.
