I love your profile name!!!
That's a really great, interesting point! I had never thought of it that way before, but you are totally spot on ... It's so weird how the media/society/we use vastly different language to describe Dita Von Teese and Amber Rose...it's like they get different narratives because one is white and one is black..yet like…
Your profile name is amazing. I love it!
Thats true, you're right. :( So, how would you treat this issue? What would be the solution?
My high school friend's mom is lactose intolerant and eats her cereal with water!!!!
Kara, I love this article so so so so so much. I feel the exact same way about milk but always got milk-shamed (antimilk-shamed?) by all my friends.
I like this comment so so much
This comment is why I like coming to io9 more than any other Gawker Media website. I agree with you x 100
A few people that responded to me were mad because it sounded "too PC," I guess? But my intent wasn't political correctness, it's just what I say sometimes, because it's accurate. It was a super innocuous comment that I made, and people were rude as hellll lol.
That's an excellent point. I guess I want them to be treated with more dignity and care than they have now, and have the same protection under the law that, for example, children have. But I want them to be understood and cared for in a way that is compatible with their own "terms." I'm not very good at articulating…
Oh my gosh "evolution talk" lol lol lol. I bet it's so frustrating for you, as a scientist, to try to deal with conversations like that
I used the term "non-human animals" once while commenting on a Gawker post and received some of the meanest, rudest responses I've ever had.
I really enjoyed this article. I particularly like the part about "judging them on their own terms." That is such a brilliant way to explain it. I care about animal liberation and welfare so much, and I really appreciate how informative and nuanced this article is. Thank you for writing it!
I totally agree with you! "Work It" always stuck out to me as a pretty progressive song..."Ain't no shame, ladies do your thang. Just make sure you ahead of the game" is a great lyric and sounds like sex-positive, and maybe pro-sex work feminism, which makes me love Missy Elliott all the more.
Kind of related to your comment:
I love this comment sooo much!!!
Wow he definitely rubs me the wrong way now...I hate the terms "white trash" and "trailer trash" etc. People who use those terms come off like clueless jerks.
