Why did this exact same film get completely different coverage over at the AVClub: https://film.avclub.com/1845023939 ?
I work with the public and kids, this is a great tip. Thank you!
Honestly not worried. The number of tremendous SNL sketches that already play to silence because the audience doesn’t get the joke, or is uncomfortable with the “edginess” (when SNL’s wit isn’t exactly known for being terribly toothy), is pretty high. The pre-taped bits already work better without laughter drowning…
Don’t forget about his enlightened comments about gun ownership!
I thought it was an interesting article.
Never thought I’d live to see the day where the new documentary that the AVClub was breathlessly (and uncritically!) covering would be about Paris Hilton.
It definitely didn’t fit the tone. Even if the content of the lyrics dovetails well with the song, the use of it in the trailer REALLY killed the momentum for me, and I say this as a diehard fan of the books.
Having just sat through Tenet, where once again a depressing amount of dialogue was rendered inaudible or garbled because characters were wearing helmets, or talking through radios, I’m totally ok with sacrificing realism here.

They could easily wall-off the interfering Republican thugs who are exploiting Kanye with high-paid security. Money really does work in this instance. Why aren’t they using it?
Why did Coroner get top pick when the reviewer is clearly panning it??

First, the chief said, the sword is not real, it’s a wood replica the man wears as part of an exercise regimen during which he dresses in military-style clothing. Secondly, the man, a Trenton resident, has never “pulled” the sword.
I mean...did Alexis Mateo know this was coming out or something?
I don’t know how many Canadians are on here, but a few years back there was a real debate within the (especially Toronto, Ontario) gay community about whether or not the police should continue to be invited to Pride.
I’m sure others have said it but the only path forward is for B99 to get defunded, and many of the main characters make ethical decisions to join other community support divisions. You can still have them all work together, but it can’t be business as usual. The only way they can survive this is if they imagine…
I suspect that keeping half the existing cast while introducing just as many new POV characters was maybe his great mistake.
