Doesn’t capitalism assume that the market needs no regulation because competition and greed will save us?

Agreed, but I’ve learned for less frequent travelers, you have to be specific. If you’re from Savage, MN (suburb of Minneapolis), wearing a big bright Vikings jacket isn’t “standing out” in their mind.

Poor whites are less likely to act on their racism (e.g. voting, support of policies, other idiocracy-type shit) when they are more economically comfortable. I’d also venture so far as to say that they’d be LESS racist.

Holding that pistol wrong while he’s at it.

Barr, Trump, etc. are completely stonewalling Dems because they’re in a Win-Win situation. Don’t comply? It fires up the base because they’re fighting for them (how? It doesn’t matter).

Do democrats actually think the average low information voter is thinking, “well, Nadler did give him extra time to turn over the report, I think Democrats are more reasonable, deliberative and willing to reach across the aisle.

- The State Departments Levels are a bit conservative and are not specific to any regions, cities, etc. For example, the UK and Brazil are both Level 2. Go to Trafalgar Square and a Favela in Sao Paulo and see how that holds up. Similarly, Denmark is Level 2 and Kazakhstan is Level 1, go figure.Point is, exercise good

We shouldn’t underestimate the economic issues that drive white people to commit hate crimes. Slow down, I’m not talking about “economic anxiety” in a vacuum. I’m talking about economic anxiety + deep seated racism + a president and party that stokes their feelings of aggrievement.

My problem with a lot of Mexican lagers is they’re so damned unpredictable re: skunked.  It’s Russian roulette.

...Or good guys with guns, or people who broadly proclaim they’d take on shooters, or building fires, etc.

Exactly- I live in a major city and bike to work. Why are my taxes paying for interstates in Iowa? I have a much smaller carbon footprint than someone who owns a house, why are my taxes being used to fund wars for energy? I live in an area that isn’t prone to natural disasters. Why are my tax dollars paying for

It’s pretty rare that you can’t find some insurance company to cover the cops. Those high premiums don’t hit the cops, they hit the people of the towns, cities, states, etc.

The problem is that Trump is essentially ignoring subpoenas, requests for documents, etc. So, one of the few ways to “force” him to give up those documents is an impeachment.

“When it costs them money, then they start making changes,” Fieger said.

As amusing as it is is that Kelly can’t read, not much will come of this.  Judges rarely find a default judgement, once the defendant finally responds.

Was a lifeguard and recently became a rescue diver. They repeated the training where the person ‘attacks’ you. Even with all the training, there’s a moment of panic when they bear hug you/ try to climb on top of you.

I think it depends on the crime. Murder, nah. Non-violent drug crime, yes. financial crimes, nah.

1. So, by decentralizing power to the general population rather than a small group of people, the left is trying to consolidate power? OK....
