1. He might have saved the guy from getting run over by the motorcycles by the looks of it. He probably would have made it, but they were pretty close.

Wow. Well I want to the rest.
After my car was stolen I started using this trick whenever I was going to be gone for any period of time.
I had a 99 Camaro SS that I drove in grad school. I drove to my wife’s (girlfriend at the time) apartment in Metarie and rode with her up to North Louisiana to meet my family on their way to Texas for Christmas. I left my car at her apartment and took off. When I returned my car was gone. I reported it stolen and a…
The mars rover. And all that axis tilt mumbo jumbo.
“Alas, you only get the extra ponies of you buy a manual transmission. Automatic models are stuck with only 200 HP and 151 lb-ft.”
The last 2% is the hardest part.... Why do you think they leave it in the milk?
I always enjoyed 5th gear. More of a show for car people than the general audience. Sadly that’s also probably why it’s gone and Top Gear lives on.
“checks out”
I know this is really old, but how did no one comment on this gem of a line:
I was definitely wondering. Thanks for the answer.
But it didn’t stop you from buying the car. If you can upgrade the shifter to your liking for $250, you probably shouldn’t let it be the deciding factor on a $200k car.
“Man I like almost everything about this car, but I’m not buying it with this crappy shifter”-No one ever.
We don’t have the same tastes and yet I totally get it. One of the reasons I wanted to finally buy a new car is because all of the abuse would be my abuse. I turned down a used version because it looked like it had been beaten on and I can pretty much guarantee you mine has had a harder life in it’s short time on this…
Whoever thought it was a good idea to let that guy drive should have gotten an earful. I don’t care how good of an instructor you are, that is not the right situation for his first experience on a track.
Ok. This along with the original need to be recognized as COTD. No question.
I would just appreciate it if they would close the loop. Fill in the time between the end of season 2 and the one shot.
As a chevy fan. These are the absolute worst. I thought they couldn’t get worse than the steel vs aluminum cage bear thing.
Doug, you have done us all a great service here. Sometimes it’s best to just let it be. The most I will usually respond with is “hmm. i thought ...” and move on. I have been wrong before too so there is some self preservation involved. Real bs is hard to ignore though.
“You can really feel that VTEC kick in, yo.”
