That was so odd—-it could have been a scene cut from the pilot. It made no sense being in the fourth episode.

One small thing I love is Hanks' space program nerdiness shining through. "Mr. White", "Jimmy Mattingly", "Lenny Haise"—all named for NASA astronauts (Ed White, Ken Mattingly, and Fred Haise). Also, "Faye Dolan", I presume was named for NASA engineer Tom Dolan who proposed Lunar Orbit Rendezvous for the Apollo
