I'm a huge Rory/Jess fan, so let me address the grievances listed here:

Jess was a sulky, troubled teen, which is like 99.9% of society at some point. Please, don't talk like he had no redeeming qualities and couldn't have grown up. In fact, he did. Look at how he simply walked away from the Blond Dick at Yale instead of popping him in the face like he would've Dean years ago..
