I’ve stopped playing AC games until one year later when every DLC comes out. It’s been alright, despite the occasional spoiler.

The quality of the developer and prerelease reviews certainly didn’t help with determining the actual release state of Cyberpunk 2077.
Your defense focuses on a specific transaction and the benefits/risks thereof. The ‘absolutist’ stance on pre-orders is about its mass effect on the industry and about the long-term impact of such. The arguments are in different dimensions.
It is absolutely good advice, because pre-orders are a scourge on the industry. And that’s stance that Kotaku has taken forever - Ari even links an older article. Now you obviously disagree with that. That’s fine. But it’s not sensible then to go ahead and say that Kotaku has to cater to your sensibilities here.
Kotaku has long taken a stance against pre-orders. This isn’t shilling for Game Pass or anything of the sort; it’s a continuation of that attitude by pointing out that you don’t need to pre-order digital copies of the game if you have Xbox Game Pass.
I hope I live to see the day the monarchy is abolished entirely. It’s unlikely, but not impossible.
Ten years for pirating a movie.
I like that India is on there twice. I’d add considerable swathes of Africa, especially West and Southeast.
I mean, yes, that is complicity. I think the distinction is in how much it’s about compromising to make the gains you need, and how much it’s about conforming to the gendered expectations. Attitude matters, because it resonates, however minutely, through others around us. ‘This is how you gotta dress, it sucks but…
Funnily enough - not really funny at all - I’ve had that said to me, multiple times by different people.
I would hope they wouldn’t touch him for a million dollars.
What an enormously disturbing attitude to have towards one’s employees. This sort of distorted, paternalistic corporate overwatch is probably the creepiest aspect of the modern corporate environment, though I don’t know if it’s so blatant in most cases.
The ideologues don’t believe in government. They are Social Darwinists, except when they’re not, then they’re hypocrites.
You hit it right on the head; adults treat children - literally more vulnerable and less capable by nature in most things - worse than they do other adults...because they can get away with it.
Regimented alone time like seems weird. Alone time is super important, but it should be when you need it, not ‘Hey, today’s Thursday, get the fuck away from me!’.
I miss Charlie Jane.
Why did you have to draw my attention to that? Ugh.
Thank you for the guffaw
I remember. And while I’d hoped they would take that message to heart and start real grassroots work, I also knew that the actual moderates saying that didn’t mean it: because now they’re talking about ‘invasion of the party by outsiders’, equating the DSA to the Tea Party and other irrelevant nonsense that just…
She’s doing it for some of the other Commonwealth countries. I’m from one. She most definitely isn’t the Head of my State, and if she were, there would be a rebellion.
