Yeah, I was always surprised by the disdain many have for the album. The Serpentine Similar is probably my favorite album, I've been listening to David Grubbs' solo stuff recently and it's all incredible. Thanks for the link, I'll check that out soon!

Haha wow you guys I watched the first part of CHE earlier today and it is incredible beyond anything I could have thought of it being. Hail Soderbergh!

The more I listen to it the more I think Yanqui U.X.O. is my favorite album they've recorded.

I love the review! This has always been one of my favorite episodes of television since I've seen it but I'm not completely sure why. Bear Down for Midterms and that tag are two bits I've laughed at more than most things so that's definitely part of it.

Excuse me sir but I believe you've been digifreaked (unless it has to be digifreak himself for that to apply, in which case I would be forced to step down from my current position and issue a statement (not sure what kind of statement yet, we'll see how this plays out))

They had an update that allows some ads, if you check the settings you should be able to turn off all ads again

No way man, I'm a huge fan of Subtle

1. Total lightweight Antonionian
2. Antonionian is truly as dumb as rock.
3. Losers such as Antonionian use me for publicity for themselves. They are strictly third rate.
4. Antonionian did really poorly on television this morning. I hope they are O.K.
5. Antonionian is a dummy. Just look at Antonionian's past.

Resnais-approved HD transfer of MURIEL, that is (you all need to watch MURIEL, it is incredible and one of Resnais' many masterpieces of editing)

I just need them to release a lot more Resnais (I really hope they got their hands on that dubious Resnais-approved HD transfer)

Paris nous appartient

Sure it's disappointing but it's not surprising given that, y'know, he's the pope

I'm back in the swing of things but I still only got to six films this weekend and half of them are ones I've already seen! The ones I had already seen are BEHIND THE CANDELABRA which is as good as Soderbergh gets (i.e. something that is easily five stars), A SCANNER DARKLY which remains Linklater's best and the best

Was THE SHINING supposed to be scary? As in, was that his intent? Because it is one of the least scary/disconcerting/uncomfortable/affecting things I've ever seen.

Happy birthday to everybody, you're all really cool people that have accepted me with no pretense and that openness makes you at least triple tight.

It's one of my favorites as well and it's definitely my favorite Cronenberg film (a bold stance, I've heard).
