If you have a water-powered engine I am certain that you would be swimming in a pile of money rather than posting on Gizmodo. The thought that there is some conspiracy suppressing free- or low cost-energy is misguided, as no company has enough capital to "buy" the idea and lock it up. This is all good, but what about the energy required to convert the algae into crude? That process isn't free. From the article, it requires putting it under incredible pressure and at high heat. Up until that point I agree that this is carbon-neutral, but that bit right there is rather key, isn't it?

This has to be a Lance Armstrong conspiracy, right? He's being torn apart by the sports press all day, and then his humiliation is being aired nightly on the OWN network. How do you recover from that? Only by finally setting into motion the craziest sports-conspiracy ever! BIG CONSPIRACY!

People may claim that, but Judaism, Islam, and Christianity all believe that only a very small number of people have actually communicated with God and/or Jesus. Those who claim otherwise (Michelle Bachmann) should actually be considered to be heretics.

Yes, the piece of shiny metal is interesting, but has anyone else noticed that the only thing bundling the wires together on the scoop itself are a series of twist ties? Plain ole, "got 'em from a grocery store and twisted them on there myself" twist ties.
