Yeah I would buy that except for they decided to adapt one of the stories that is the least horror like from the Hellboy run and as confirmed by the poster, this is really going to be more of a horror tinged fantasy epic.

I think Venom is the rare entertainingly bad that I wanna watch it without people talking over it. It’s just so bizarre and amusing on its own.
I hope this adaptation improves upon the comic book by actually toning it down, because the comic was one of the most reprehensibly nihilistic things I’ve ever read and the fact that it thought all of it was funny to boot was genuinely disturbing.
Is it a great title though? I get the joke (they’re volleyball players) but I think it gets too close to just being transphobic territory.
Rumble in the Bronx?
New Zhang Yimou? In theaters? OH JOY!
Also Yayan Ruhian is set to appear in John Wick 3, as if I couldn’t be more excited about that movie.
I just checked out Headshot starring Iko Uwais on Netflix yesterday. It’s really good, if not at the same level of either of The Raid movies. There’s also the upcoming Triple Threat (starring Uwais, Tiger Chen, Tony Jaa, Scott Adkins and Michael Jai White; which is like a dream cast for me), which I really hope I get…
So you agree that Marvel has sexist bars to clear for its female roles that their male co-stars don’t have to go through?
You do know Marvel actually met with Sackhoff during casting right? She had more than a 1% chance.
OK, no, if I was comics/gamergater, I would be attacking this film for being about/co-directed by and starring women. That’s what that movement is about. They hate women, trans people and minorities. They don’t actually care about comics and games.
I’m glad the arbiter of all truth and knowledge is here. You sound fun.
I thought Deconnick’s run struck a fine balance with vulnerable moments and hardheaded Carol that could be emulated well without dipping into fascist Civil War II Carol.
She is usually depicted as an authoritative “take no shit” figure. For Marvel to take their first leading woman and take her from that to this, is what worries me, because Captain Marvel is one of my favorite characters.
Actually, no I didn’t. Gal Gadot was perfect for that role.
I really don’t give a damn about Oscars. Especially for a role that is essentially Starbuck with superpowers. Plus, I have only liked Larson in Scott Pilgrim and Kong: Skull Island.
Another good choice, plus she can do a song for the soundtrack lol
Also a good choice.
I was pretty sure about Chris Evans. He’s got a pretty natural charm to him. Also I have a lot more interest in Captain Marvel succeeding or failing being that she’s one of my favorite characters despite Marvel’s attempts to keep screwing up with since Deconnick stopped writing her.
Yeah, I’m not buying Brie Larson so much in the role from that teaser. I hope the trailers sell me more. She’s very soft spoken compared to how Carol Danvers talks.
(Still wishing we got Katee Sackhoff)
