The battle system is what's keeping me on the fence... I like my battle systems all action-y or all menu-based, not mixes of the two. Never really got into The Last Story for instance.

I think he's saying that it would cost extra to be able to play on the gamepad. Surely the GC games would/will cost a lot more than 10$.

I find I tire of the battle music in FFIX after a while and wish I could just keep listening to whatever awesome music is playing in the dungeon.

I actually don't want to bag on SE too much on this because I thought FFXIII-2 was even worse and I'd hate for them to try to keep going in the sandbox-direction… but even FFX, the predecessor most like FFXIII, had little diversions along the admittedly Crash bandicoot-linear path; collecting al bhed primers, hidden…

Did not love this game and gave up on it about 20 hours in... it definitely wasn't bad though. I just prefer battles to be either turn-based or action-oriented, not some kind of mix.

I agree with everything you say; I don't think people realize how radically different a current gen interpretation of the game would be.
