But to me, it all comes down to the risk, budgets and the limits that is imposed. I'm pretty sure that del Toro would want to show more. I heard that this movie has 30 minutes plus of contents being cut down.

Do we really want to make everything a trilogy? I loved the fact that the "origin" story is done in 10 minutes before the title card and that everything does actually fit into one movie. We need more of this, not less.
