Again, Michigan's economic recession ended in 2007. I'm not sure I would characterize that as academic. In general it means companies and corporations were revenue positive, at or over capacity, and had a positive outlook on both their financial data and the economic data.

It might be disgusting, but it's not all that gory. I think you would need to play this game to honestly put it in context. As someone else said, it's cheesy. It's in the vein of B-movies out of the 1950's and 60's. Jaws was gorier than this game and Jaws got a PG rating in the 1970's.
