At least to me it’s more an attitude thing than failing to include the list of cities it’s in. Yeah, it is just one click away. But if you’re going to be lazy, don’t also be smug about it and insult people.

Gizmodo just ran an article on the same feature, but that one has much less useful information on it (such as not even naming the locations it’s rolling out in) and condescends readers for no reason.

The answer is “sometimes.” Some ad deals have payments for traffic, but most only for clicks, AFAIK.

There are other ways to monetize, yes; for instance a certain tech blog that is part of the gakwer network might, as a hypothetical that totally doesn’t actually happen, take money from a large, fruity tech company in exchange for pushing their products over their competitors.
