Thufir and, criminally, Dr. Yueh are yotal nonentities in the new version and far too much screen time is given to Jason Momoa when he’s not that big a deal in the book at this stage.

It is Star Trek, people walk off a case of the deadsies all the time in Trek. It is one of the series oldest plotlines pretty much. A quick trip to the Black Mountain, shake the hand of the Koala, and he’s back in the game no worries.
I had no idea the same studio produced This War of Mine AND Frostpunk. That’s, um, quite a niche they’ve carved out for themselves: videogames most likely to contribute to your suicide. I mean, holy crap I thought This War of Mine was bleak until I experienced hundreds of citizens freezing to death in Frostpunk as a…
yeah it’s pretty annoying and very obviously them trying to pivot and rip off minecraft...but you can make it like 10 minutes of the game at most if you choose.
No. Please watch the Empire Strikes Back and tell us what the story says what training is and using the Force.
LOL you literally don’t know what a Mary Sue is:
8-year old Anakin was an ace pod racer and straighter pilot without really knowing anything about the Force. Luke was holding his own against Darth Vader after like a week of training with Yoda. Rey being able to take on an injured Kylo Ren and use some other basic Force abilities right away was pretty much par for…
Yeah it’s notable that even the ST haters tend to like Ridley as Rey - that part of how you could tell the actual SW fans who were just hatin’ from the fake-fan (soz but they were) alt-right types who came in to bash on TLJ when they got a chance to use controversy as cover. Actual SW fans who just disliked TLJ or the…
I like Daisy Ridley and dare I say this time spanning plan seems kind of cool if the trilogy HAS A PLAN
The key to stop thinking of the episodes as filler is to recognise that *this is the show*. This is how the series will always be - some are lore episodes, some are arc episodes, some are fetch quest episodes. That way, the word ‘filler’ never has to cross your lips.
Oh my god Shauna has a gun now. You might want to run Jeff. What part of rampage do you not understand
Let’s see a show of hands for everyone fearing for the future of their careers. I think AI will be a double edged sword for humanity, it will improve the average person’s lives immeasurably, but it will also take the fun out of so many creative and technical hobbies and professions, to the point of stripping away…
Sometimes, that’s all I need. I’m in.
Calling Sanderson’s work the MCU of fantasy books is wildly overgenerous, yet does have some truth in it.
I like Sanderson’s books, they’re definitely popular because they’re accessible and competently delivered as opposed to dazzling the reader with prose but there’s no shame in being the MCU of fantasy books.
Oh wow, I didn’t know the industry had changed so much. It seemed to have been a rather important part during filming of The Office, for example
No, that’s completely rewriting history, and absolute bullshit as a result.
This is standard for Star Wars at this point. The only writers, I think, who stayed on for the entire project from beginning to end in this era are Jennifer Corbett, Jon Favreau, Jon Favreau, Rian Johnson, and Jon Favreau. And it’s not like this is new. The only writers who rode out a whole movie before Disney are…
You’re thinking of Oz. Oz is a prison-set series that also featured Lance Reddick.
Your post is so on the money, and it captures my thoughts exactly. Fringe is excellent: Lance Reddick, Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Nobel and Jasika Nicole are such a great ensemble. Phillip Broyles and Cedric Daniels - two meaty roles for one wonderful actor.
