I think that’s exactly who gets it. He’s a perfectly known quantity, he’s well respected. They can act like they’re putting the franchise in solid, dependable hands. I think people quote Drax more. At least, the people I know do. That’s anecdata, and hardly representative, but Drax is a big part of the heart and soul of the movies. He also resonates with autistic kids, and losing someone like that just sucks.

From a plot standpoint, sure. From a standpoint of the character of the films? Probably not. I know that when I hear someone quote GotG 1 or 2, it’s usually Drax, Rocket or Groot (in roughly that order). Drax isn’t central to the plot, but he is to the heart of the movies.
