I’m not sure why people are replying about Konami since you didn’t mention them.

Well then, you would know better. It just seemed to me that MS is trying to shore up both falling platforms by updating the APIs and the operating systems so that programming for Xbox is like programming for a specific version of Windows and a specific hardware profile. I don’t really know what it’s like to program…
Right, but you can’t program a game for DirectX and Windows APIs and magically get it to work on the PS4. You need to have compiler directives and flags as well as different sections of code to get it to work. A developer needs to come up with some method to distinguish the code whether through ifdef blocks or some…
Not really. I’m a programmer but not a game developer so I don’t know if this is true but I imagine that the drive for this is to unify the APIs programmers are using between both Xbox and PC. By doing this, it incentizes developers to prioritize Microsoft platforms since they can program once and have it work between…
Most major games are coming out for PC/Xbox/Playstation anyway. If Microsoft is unifying their APIs across the Xbox and Windows platforms then it greatly simplifies things for a programmer. In this case, the Xbox is nothing more than a version with a fixed configuration. Developers aren’t coding to the metal anymore…
I think it’s a good idea. It gives developers an opportunity to simplify their development. They can optimize for a few set hardware profiles (e.g. the Xboxes) and allow scalable specs for the portion of the audience who’s willing to shell out for high end PC specs. It also gives them an excuse to keep refreshing the…
It was great because it helped me know when I could go pee. You could say the leak helped me take a leak.
Oh, my bad. I just remember thinking it was perfect at the time. I’d love to revisit it.
All I want is for From to make a new 3D Dot Game Heroes.
As long as Nabisco doesn’t buy Snacktaku. I’d hate to have to worry that your hard hitting reports might be biased.
Kikkoman is garbage.
She’s just enjoying the break. There’s nothing but abject terror in her future.
Who? Oh, you mean Captain Basch?
I didn’t back this because I played Banjo Kazooie just before this and didn’t like it as much as I remembered. That said, this looks great. I kind of wish I had backed it now.
Hi Eric! I’ve missed you!
Looks like they did indeed get the license. http://www.lizardcube.com/presskit/sheet…
D and D2 are very different. This is more of a FMV adventure game. like Dragon’s Lair.
Which company? DotEmu? LizardCube? Since when and how? I always thought the arrangement was Sega owned “Wonder Boy” and “Monster World” and Westone owned the rest. That’s why things like Bikkuriman World exist. That’s also why the original developer is working with the Monster Boy people. I don’t see the words Sega or…
I think you should enjoy those games regardless but this is its own thing so go ahead and enjoy it without the nostalgia goggles.
Has there been any word on the extent to which Sega’s involvement is. They own the rights to Wonder Boy after all.
