I think part of it is that the game really doesn't give off the best first impression. The Coldharbor tutorial is pretty bad, and the initial islands are an improvement, but the game doesn't really start opening up (and therefore showing its best) until around level 6, when you get to the first big zone (Auridon, in

I just found/switched to this lovely wallpaper last night.

I'm just going to copy-paste a comment I made over on Reddit about my opinion of the game.

That's funny, because I can't go anywhere online any more without seeing this exact comment. Also, most (all?) of these are not about zombies.

I explicitly said comedy isn't only derived from the unexpected. I just said that's a large part of it.

I haven't watched the video, but I'm going to throw a guess out here. Comedy is (in large part, though not exclusively) based on the unexpected. Once a meme, even a genuinely funny one, has reached such saturation that it's being posted in response to every situation, it's no longer unexpected, and thus no longer

He's been making games since I was -6.

I loved that movie too, but I feel like not enough people have seen it.

Why does her stomach have a ridge on it?

Flappy Doge all the way.

Two, and a terrific TV Series no one watched.

Now playing

I can't wait to see what they're doing with Sherlock Holmes 7. (Don't watch this video if you actually plan to play the last Sherlock Holmes game. Otherwise, watch it, it's hilarious.)

Oh come on, that has to already exist.

Cool, I've still never played this (I missed it when it came out, don't judge me) and this gives me a good excuse to do so.

I still have great memories of playing Myst and Riven with my dad when I was probably... Geez, 6? Maybe not even that. We kept little notebooks of clues and everything. That was one of my earliest experiences with video games, and it's also one of my favorite gaming memories.

Ooh. That last one hit close to home. I sometimes feel like gaming and cooking (and writing, if it's not for something with a deadline) are the only activities my anxiety issues don't get in the way of, probably because they don't typically require social interaction (voice chat: off).

They backpedaled on that.

I think it's mostly semantics. Basically instead of saying that the game launches an open beta today with only the first half available, they're saying the first "episode" launches today for real.

Didn't they only announce Elijah Wood as a voice actor like, two weeks ago? Did they really get all of his lines for part one recorded that quickly? Or am I crazy, and it's been way longer than that?
