I know a regular person who went to a facility for his depression and it was referred to as rehab. It isn't just for addiction, it's anything you need help rehabilitating.

As a person who has struggled with eating disorders, and has been in treatment many times, I feel pretty qualified to say that eating disorders ARE an addiction, and I have personally referred to my treatment as "rehab". I find your comment to be odd.

The place she's at isn't a hospital, it's a residential treatment center.

You can use the idea of rehabilitation for eating disorders and mental illnesses. Heck, we call facilities that treat brain injury patients "rehabs". It's not exclusively for addiction.
