"Inception" was an original IP that hit it big. And WWZ had a genuine movie star like Brad Pitt headlining it. Also, the vast majority of movie going public probably had no idea of the behind the scenes turmoil, and, from what I've heard, it doesn't show up on the screen.

I'm going to guess that the movie has no appeal for women. Even Man of Steel threw in eye candy and shots of Lois and Supes making moony eyes at each other. Since Legendary funded 70% of the budget they better hurry up and sign with a new studio before July 12.

I actually remember him saving multiple people in the small town. And doesn't he actually save one of the jet pilots that Zod brings down? I think it seems like he let a lot of people die because the movie was so explosion and destruction happy.

I don't get the "heroes don't kill" part, unless there's something about "escapist hero" that doesn't include James Bond. Is he considered an anti-hero?

Or it couldn't decide if it was a remake or a sequel to the 1978 film, since it just ripped off so many elements. Also, Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane.

George Lucas is such a terrible director of actors, he launched the careers of Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams, and got Alec Guinness a supporting actor Oscar nomination.

Someone may have already mentionEd this, but the first movie to come to mind was the 50s The Thing, which famously has no similarity to the novella "Who Goes There?"

Too bad he didn't exit Green Lantern at the same point in production. That movie might have had a chance. Might...

And Goyer, who directed Blade 3.

I think if my choices came down to The Purge or The Interns, I'd go with the movie that wasn't a Google infomercial, too. Then again, I just did other things this weekend.

I'll give you After Earth, but Gatsby pretty much is doing what the studio expected, maybe even a little better, given Baz's track record. It's at 133 million, which is his best box office, so far. If any big movie has had a "meh" run it's Star Trek.

I wasn't a big fan of either of his Trek movies, but I also got the distinct feeling he had little regard for that franchise beyond sexing it up with younger actors. Hopefully, he'll treat the galaxy far, far away with more reverence. However, I wasn't a fan of his hire ( I was hoping they'd go the Bond route and hire

"Avengers" would've been more appropriate.

When they dropped the "Red Dragon" title, wasn't it because "Year of the Dragon" had come out and bombed?

They're similar in that the lead actors spend the same amount of time in the Iron Man suit.

This actually makes "Olympus Has Fallen" seem subtle.

The good news is I didn't have my heart set on an ID4 sequel. The bad news is I didn't have my heart set on any new Emmerich movie.

Phillips comes across as a pretty massive tool. Will Ferrell should def play him in any film version.

If you want to strip the Angels of their WS win because Troy Glaus is a proven cheater, I'd love that, too.

As a Giants fan, I really hope Kemp was a doper and that's why he hobbles around hurt all the time now. Would love to shut up those obnoxious Dodger fans and their Matt Kemp is The Greatest crap. It's nice to not have to hear Vin Scully go on and on about how Eric Gagne was the Greatest Closer in the World.
