I don’t know if they’ve ever specified any maps, but an interesting bit of trivia I recall as far as characters go is that both Reaper and Tracer were salvaged from Titan pretty much as-is (at least design-wise, not sure about gameplay).

I’ve wondered that too. They keep showing the moon prominently (and some sort of city or large facility is clearly visible on it’s surface), and the moon base in Recall was the only set-piece from any of the shorts that isn’t actually in the game. I’d make for a pretty neat map.

I wouldn’t say so. Vagrant Story was a pretty big deal when it came out. It’s one of those RPG classics I often see held up on a pedestal alongside Square’s other hits of that era, though it’s popularity does seem to have fallen by the wayside in recent years.
