The food supply is too important to be subjected to unreasonable whims. I’m anti-label because there is absolutely no reason to be concerned about GMO foods and we shouldn’t be pandering to the anti-science crowd.

Your reasoning on the hole in the lid is sound. However, lots of rice cookers (including this one that’s highly rated by Cooks Illustrated and shoppers on Amazon) has one, as does the pot I happen to use for cooking rice.

The even scarier thing is that ‘public’ water fountains were built by private companies! So even if we stop giving money to one corporation by not drinking water bottles, we’ll be giving it to another private company (maybe Kohler?).
Having a “right” to a thing means someone has to provide it. This is why the true rights in our Constitution do not require anyone to provide goods or services to anyone else.

No mention of status indicators that might give you a clue as to why your computer refuses to boot? Sometimes the power button will blink a certain color/pattern, or there will be an audible beep; OptiPlex boxes have indicators that will light up in a particular sequence; etc.

Between brighter lamps at the wall bases + additional fixtures on the mezzanines, they’re making noticeable strides with the lighting upgrades these days. I’ll take our Metro stations over depressing holes like this any day:
