That's just unrealistic. If you shoot a firearm it's with the intention of killing, period. If your aim is to use nonlethal force, then you don't use a gun.

I love Duke, one of my favs, but Invisible Touch is not their master piece man. Its their shittiest album tbh. The gabriel era was magical, and they kept on making great progressive pop music when he left. Except for invisible touch. There are some great songs on there, but as a whole, nah.
