The FUD:

Your handbag or computer is not worth a human life. Leave everything and run for the love of all that is holly.

Keep you ID, phone and wallet on your person. Everything else is irrelevant and makes you a liability to everyone else trying to get off the plane.

Seems like lots of folks on this thread are missing the point: the fools took time to get their bags from the overhead. That is negligence. Had the plane blown up, people would have died because of it.

Finally got around to watching that video. One thing popped out at me: connecting that chain looks like the most dangerous job out there. Wow, just wow. I mean, at 350 pounds per link, one slip, and you are pinned underneath an easy thousand pounds of steel.
