Well thankfully this is a relatively small asteroid (though not for the people in the impact/tsunami zone), and won't threaten life on a global scale. Because I have no confidence in our political leaders (at least in the US) to actually act in the face of overwhelming scientific fact (see: every challenge facing our

With crazy ideas like love and pacifism.

This was clearly filmed on a soundstage. WHERE ARE THE SHADOWS!

Promoting for truth.

I'm in the same boat. I really like the form factor (book sized, fits well in a bag), and $200 is perfect for a tablet ($500 or more is too much in laptop territory). I mostly use mine for surfing the internet, reading, and watching Netflix/Youtube. It hits all those marks reasonably well, though the Fire is strangely

I barely used my Kindle Fire until I installed Cyanogen on it. I like the OS better than Amazon's version of Android, and Youtube/Netflix seem to run better. This Nexus tablet intrigues me, especially with a front foacing camera.

From the last I read, his ability to communicate has gotten far worse over the last few years. It's not unimaginable that soon he won't be able to physically manipulate the machine that produces speech. The idea of being trapped in my own head with no communicating with the outside world is horrible.

I read over at the AV Club that it ends with Steve Carrel and Keira Knightley in bed awaiting the asteroid impact. My mother in law grew up in the New York City area, lives elsewhere now, and has retained a strong version of the accent. I grew up in the same area, and lost my accent after about a year of college. Kind of strange how it just...went away.

Yea, I edited up above. Language is awesomely fluid and changing.

On more than one occasion I've found myself with a dozen tabs open about different dialects, languages, and accents (Thanks Wikipedia!).

That doesn't sound right...

The Martian astronaut took a sip of wine as she stared at the pregnancy test from high above Europa...

Who thought his would be a good idea?

Why make it so complex to land?

The last couple of rovers landed with the help of a parachute and giant inflatable airbags that allowed the rover to gradually roll and bounce to a halt. I believe they're trying to land this rover in a much smaller are. Less distance to target if they land a lot closer.

"why change something, even subtly, if it already works?"
