The alumni and non-football program Penn State community had absolutely nothing to do with the child molesting except their veneration of the man who could have stopped it and their refusal to recognize and accept that criminal actions often have consequences.

More than likely the university agreed to indemnify Wilson in any lawsuits filed against him personally by previously-injured players. That could be worth many more millions than any payout required by salary.

I have to say, as terrible as all of this is, I really like Fred Glass. Not only does he run one of the few profitable athletic departments in the country, but he seems like a stand up guy.
