I once lived in Metairie, near New Orleans, on a road next to a levee. I was astonished at the loudness of noise made by the toads and frogs living there. I had always thought the sound effects in movies set in tropical places was an exaggeration—but it was definitely not! If anything, the sound effects were

Me too! I found a wooden single-drawer one at the Salvation Army that I'm using for random story ideas. I have a couple of the 2-drawer metal card catalog boxes in my garage...they are just the right size for storing boxes of nails, screws, nuts and bolts.

because even rich fat elitists prefer pictures over reading? ;)

It frushtrated your mother, Trebek!

I lived near a pond that was a hot spot for banging toads. It's really horrible walking at night, never knowing if you're going to bring your foot down on a toad. (I say this out of compassion for the toads.)

Playing on stereotypes is cheap and lazy, even if it's not intended to offend. In fact, it's not so much offensive as just plain sad and a bit lame.

If you had any idea how to use them the card catalog was a LIFE saver in a large library with multiple floors and whole buildings full of things you were looking for. I refuse to accept that the card catalog was a bad thing. Once computerized systems replace it, things got even better; but in its time the card

Toads are great. When I was a kid, the house we lived in had what we called a sleeping porch. Basically a big, screened in porch on the second floor. That was were I slept during the warm weather. All spring I would fall asleep hearing the toads sing around the fish pond in the back yard. Now, I have the American Toad

Toads don't sleep in the water. In fact, they only get in the water to mate & lay eggs. 99% of the time, they are terrestrial. Great little critters to have in your garden. Put out some toad huts. You won't be sorry.

I'm so conflicted by these issues.

On the one hand I can understand wanting to provide for and ensure the survival of one's progeny / familiar group. That's only natural.

DC is really bad at things lately...as much as I love Lobo and Batman this kinda rubs me in the wrong way. No they're not directly responsible, I know that, but given everything else they've been up to I'm kinda over DC now.

Yeah, it needs to be the lesser known versions of characters, like News Reporter Kermit, or Herbert Birdsfoot, or Herry Monster, or Sully and Biff.

Now playing

The Simpsons. It just really woke me up to the adult world in a lot of ways, and is single-handedly responsible for exposing me to classic 60s and 70s music.

Watership Down. Of course, I fell in love with it when I was still a kid, so I guess it was for kids after all. Or at least one kid. Me.

That's what they say. To be honest I'm ok with it. I WOULD HOWEVER love to see him pop up as Tony Stark every now and then, no Iron Man-ing. I think that would cut down some of the strain. Although I think it's probably the time demand that's wearing him down at this point an not so much the action-y bits of shooting

Awwww, damnit. . . .

No? He confirmed in an interview that he wants to continue being Iron Man.

He could've turned into this guy.
