I’m pretty certain the opportunity to avert a civil war is past. We’ve been fighting about the New Deal since its inception, about labor rights since the concept of a “union” was introduced, and about whether everyone in the States is really a citizen since the Civil Rights Act.

The way they do is to not think about it. Think about where the greatest support for a border wall and deporting all illegals is, it’s in the middle of the country.
