There's a logical reason.

I use Square on my iPhone all the time, and there's 3 places I go frequently (a sandwich shop, the convenience store in my building, and Starbucks) which all use Square. For the first two, I just pull out my phone, tap "pay" on the screen, and I pay via Wifi/3G and the location sensor that knows I'm in the store - no

No.... NFC is still a barrier to your true desire to be "Minority Report" style... with NFC, you still have to pull out your phone (in retail and marketing applications)... the true end game is not having to pull out anything. NFC is just a stop-gap until that vision becomes reality... which will be very soon. Also,

Apple does NFC-like tap actions using Bluetooth 4.0

My theory: the TouchID is the first step in this direction. It won't be NFC, instead they will leverage iTunes payments with various vendors. You want something? Take your iPhone out, scan your finger, iTunes is charged, take your goods.

It isn't as if there is a single NFC standard that is universally accepted. Sure, whichever way Apple decides to go is likely to have a huge influence on which NFC spec is adopted, but Apple has never been eager to pick a winner when it is already deployed widely. How excited would consumers be to find that there

You obviously do not live in NYC where NFC is in every Cab, and Duane Reade (Walgreens checkout), paying your fare without having to pull out a credit card is wonderful.

try the veal

It's a fad until enough people have it on their phone for and there is a market to develop for. While individual luxury android set have had it the shear glut of apple's high income demo would be the big part of making it relevant.

There's no point... NFC is a fad.

I thought the same thing.

Why would they? NFC is a contactless technology...

He didn't mean to imply Coach K was there, he was simply citing him as an expert on blowing your seed.

Those appear to be the Pillars of Creation. Wikipedia, take it from here!

I'm a Wawa guy, but yeah.

Picked up for what? Cutting off a minivan and going 20 over speed limit at night?

They should pick up every single yellow cab driver then and 90% of the drivers in NYC.

But hey, it's tax payers money. Who cares!

So Vine has definitely taken a hint from YouTube.... so far every one of these compilations have tits for thumbnail image. Sigh.

Don't even open the door for that crappy argument.
