While I would love to see this happen, I highly doubt it ever would. Nintendo currently has a deal with K'nex. While it hasn't produced any Metroid items, I doubt would license Metroid to Lego due to the existing relationship with K'nex.

Nintendo would never let it happen. I'm pretty sure Zelda one's before it have failed because of Nintendo.
