T2, hands down. Fun fact: also the last movie I was ever in that had an intermission.

Have you not seen every trailer that gives away all the major plot points of a movie now? I reiterate: those twists are the very selling point used to entice the mass audience to check it out. They don’t care if they know about it going in; in fact, they were sold on it and are now expecting it.

You’re assuming the broader audience cares about spoilers. The whole point is to drum up interest and you’re not gonna get it unless you give up some major events to them. Those of us in the regular community don’t number enough to offset that. See also: Death of Superman.

I think another big part is that skeptical thinking and rejection of all supernatural beliefs is becoming more prevalent.

Always appropriate.

Squee?

I...I want to watch that now. Dammit.

No. No, it is not.

I like Mark Strong. I hope he’s the villain.

As usual, the drama behind the scenes in the Star Wars universe remains nearly as compelling as the drama on screen.

Re: Lovecraft Country

Wouldn’t it make more sense to take a Martin Scorsese produced Joker with Joaquin Phoenix and wait and see if it works out,

Pfff. Logic. Sense. Continuity. These are things mere mortal franchises must contend with.

Oh, and when people stop dismissing other people just because they’re different from them. Thanks for reminding me!

“Cut off the head, and two more will grow in its place.”

If these movies can’t even do that yet, when are they going to get around to including LGBTQ characters in storylines that are deemed to have the “relevance”

Saw it. Loved it, especially how much it felt like a continuation of the first movie. Only (minor) complaint was the main villain (and motivations) was pretty obvious. Won’t say more for spoilers.

I don’t think they make sense for powered beings who can fly, but I think for humans, say, someone dressed as a bat, they can be helpful for controlled descents. There’s a good scene in Batman Begins at the end when he opens his cape and backs out of the train that I thought perfectly encapsulates it.

You leave my parachute pants outta this.
