If you play it long enough, they talk about Groundhog Day and compare it to the game.

I think the more important message in the game, though, isn't about the date, it's about the player. Or about stories, but mostly about the way we perceive stories. The relationship between the player and the author? I don't want to explain too much because I think people should just play it and be surprised/come to…
I wish I had the power to pull your post out of the grey un-recommended zone. I think some of the commenters here have seriously missed the point of the article...
There's no real benefit in reading anything into it, but I can't help but be skeptical on this. Sony appears to have a huge chance here, but realistically, the only people who are angry right now are the people who check sites like Kotaku regularly and post in comment sections and such. It sounds like people are…
You know, instead of going the heavy-handed route and blocking used games, Microsoft and Sony should take a positive approach instead—entice people to download games instead of using discs. Let people play used games in physical format, but tie digital games to your account. Then make digital-format games ten dollars…
This is so true. As a moral matter, I think blocking used games is wrong, but as a practical matter I hardly care because sales are the real way to save money. I don't really care that much that I can save $5 on a used game when the real way to save money is a Steam sale or an Amazon sale.
On one hand, I think the rush to condemn Microsoft and the Xbox One is kind of foolish considering that, honestly, we know very little about the console. The gaming community can be pretty harsh and entitled sometimes, and this seems like one of those times to me. I'll wait for the dust to clear before deciding what…
I need some kind of overarching theme or something to tie it all together—otherwise it just feels aimless to me. Unless you go all-in with some kind of side-quest-y style format, or something like Odin Sphere where you go character by character.
For what it's worth, XII and XIII are fairly different from the rest of the FF games. I don't know what turned you off about VII (actually, not one that I've played, despite the hype), but I think IX and X have held up better based on what I've seen of VII.
Realistically, you could start with any of them, so what I would recommend is to go with something that's been relaunched recently. I think an HD remake of X is coming out soon, so that could be a good option. I also think IV and VI were remade on DS not too long ago? Those all seem like good choices.
By filing a lawsuit to make him comply with his contractual obligations, if that is indeed a part of the deal. I doubt that 22cans would make him responsible for any loss though; that would be pretty lame of them. That would turn the contest into a gigantic fail...
I think NerfNow is a reference to this meme/cat picture. Sorry if this is a double post (or if the image doesn't work), I've been on Kotaku for a long time but for some reason never posted an image.
If you read the source, it's responding to a question about backwards compatability. Actually, it's responding to the question "Should people hold on to their 360s" if they want to play 360 games. The questioner was referring to how Sony is streaming older generation games using Gakai, and was asking if Microsoft had…
Yeah I usually stuck to making my own parties. I think I just got tired of it—for a little while I started leveling some other classes; I enjoyed Ninja and White Mage, and eventually I defected to WoW. I had a group of friends for a while, but our BLM left us behind (and he is my IRL friend too!), and we never had a…
Ah, I see what you're saying. That makes sense, but that's why I said it's a legit comparison unless you're considering not buying any new consoles at all because of it. I don't see lack of backwards compatibility as an argument really; I think we can all agree a console with backwards compatibility is a plus and…
As far as being an unapproved commenter goes, I totally get the reasoning for it, but it's frustrating because it makes me feel like there is no point in starting new threads. I usually end up just replying to people instead of starting my own threads because I feel like at least one person will see my comment that…
But...in that analogy you're giving, it does add something. Actually I'd say the analogy you gave is actually more apropos then comparing the Xbox to the PS4, haha. If there are no bouncy balls on the market that won't eventually stop bouncing, why do I care that one specific brand will stop bouncing? At that point,…
The comparison to the PS4 is legit—unless you're considering not buying any next-gen consoles at all because they lack backwards compatibility.
(1) 7 days. But honestly, I don't see why we want this at all and it'd still be kind of annoying. If it was reduced to 7 days though, I personally wouldn't notice it the vast majority of the time.
I had penta thrust—I heard they made some change after I stopped playing and people thought Dragoons were really good again, but when I was trying to level mine everyone decided that they weren't any good.
