WE GET IT, your heart = the moon. Stop beating us over the head with it!

It's true that in the past this has been the case, but schools across the nation are actively working to change this. And not just with nutrition, with all pet care products. Our school may be ahead of the curve but soon this will be standard. I agree that there is a bias against raw food amongst older vets but I

Speaking as a 3rd year vet student, we do get classes on nutrition. I've had one and will have another next year. Classes are not sponsored by corporations (I'm not even sure how this would be possible). We aren't allowed to have industry speakers come and present lectures about their products to avoid a bias for

The vet will want to work with you to decide what is best for your cat, and if you indicate that it is important to you that your cat be fed a raw diet then he/she will work with you to do this in the safest way possible, careful that you are avoiding all of the risks associated with the diet. It's incredibly

Yes, sadly I've seen this too, even with people who are actually very sincere about being ready for a pet. They can have a really great application but still be totally flabbergasted once they get the actual animal home. But at least the applications help keep these animals from being something you pick up and take

I would recommend to not do your research online but instead find a vet who will give you medically sound, scientifically-backed advice on the best way to go about a raw diet.

For those that worry about impulse buys, the SPCA has fairly extensive adoption applications so even if a kid sees a puppy he/she just HAS to have, mom and dad still have to apply and be approved before they can take the puppy home. This is just great exposure for shelter pets and shows people how cute and adoptable

I used to work in a microbiology lab where we had to be on our feet all day and had to be able to bleach our shoes on a regular basis. These were pretty good for the job. I definitely agree they are not the best looking shoes though!

I loved this cartoon! I totally forgot about it. I remember they had a badass female character too.

What a coincidence because I don't think we need any more dudes.

Feel free to feed your pet whatever you decide is best (no judgement here), but please bring up your pet's diet with your veterinarian at your pet's yearly check ups so they can help make sure you are feeding what is best for your pet! They know you only want what's best but sometimes there is a lot of misinformation

Alternatively, you might feel notice some weird stuff going on but never have a bad feeling about it. My husband and his family believe there is weird stuff that goes on at their house but the energy has never seemed negative or angry. When I stay there I'm a little creeped out from their stories but I've also never

I agree! It said when the dogs go to a place where someone had been tortured or held captive they whine and get anxious, some put their tails between their legs. It really bothers them. It makes me really pay attention to my dog when he's behaving strangely now.

That's soooo freaky. I've heard about police taking trained dogs to places where crimes took place - dogs are very sensitive to human stress hormones and can pick up on them even years after some sort of traumatic/tortuous event happened in a place. That room was probably drenched in them.

When my husband (we'll call him Mr. Stitch) was 6 or 7 his family bought a farm house that had belonged to their family since before the civil war (it had been rented out after his great-grandma died but his mom wanted to have it back in the family). It had been part of the underground railroad so it has a LOT of

I'm sure that's part of the weight-loss regimen they have him on, but you have to be careful about limiting an overweight cat's diet too much because they can develop a disease called hepatic lipidosis where the body tries to release fat for energy and ends up overwhelming the liver.

He certainly does look 12 in that picture but google tells me he's 25. Weird!

I agree with all the reasons you mentioned, PLUS I was miserable with my ex and lost a lot of weight from being stressed and never having an appetite. When I started dating my now husband I gained 10 lbs fast and my doctor at the time called it "happy weight" which I thought was a pleasant way to look at it!

I totally agree, I had IBS as a kid and couldn't show anything for it. I just got constipated and had horrible cramps but no fever or anything. I finally had a doctor who explained to my parents that it was stress induced and it was good to have someone validate me but I still get SUPER defensive when I get sick or

I had unexplained stomach pain for a year as a child and saw lots of doctors before a gastroenterologist finally told my parents "I think she's just stressed." My parents were like "About what? She's NINE." They were supportive about it though and taught me coping mechanisms for stress and it helped. I still have
